Green LaMiS

The Green LaMiS project aims to develop a common transnational solution for sustainable management of the “last mile” of home social services with transport needs. According to experience, these services are not always provided in a sustainable way, causing high CO2 emissions and/or traffic problems.

As a first step, the Green LaMiS project develops a common strategy and action plan for a more sustainable delivery of home social services based on carbon footprint calculations and territorial characteristics including the special characteristics of the involved social services. This strategy and action plan will be tested in three pilot cities in three different countries: Szombathely (Hungary), Bergamo (Italy), Klis (Croatia), then the results of the testing (joint solution) will be integrated into their local urban mobility plans.

In order to sustain the impact of the project, a series of capacity-building activities will be implemented as well.

The most important task of Westpannon Nonprofit Ltd. in the project is to carry out the testing process, to manage the capacity building related work package (as work package leader), and to provide professional support to the City of Szombathely during the project implementation.

The 30-month long project will be implemented in frame of the European Union's Interreg Central Europe programme and co-financed by the Hungarian State. The project partnership consists of 9 partners from four different countries: 3 from Italy, 3 from Hungary, 2 from Croatia, and 1 for Germany.
