ICDM

The aim of the ICDM project is to create a cross-border, sustainable framework model and develop a common cycling tourism destination model. Our goal is to support the development of a new thematic cycling product that highlights less visited rural areas and cultural and natural values related to "spiritual heritage." This includes religions, archaeological sites, traditions, legends, cultural landscapes, and other artistic creations.

The Slovenian-Hungarian partnership will first create a common model and experience-based service, then develop common qualification and accessibility standards, as well as implement a joint branding and promotion strategy to reach international markets and people with special needs. This will be followed by capacity building and a mentoring program for innovative tourism service providers in the border region, as many tour guides and service providers in the area lack the knowledge (storytelling, development and operation of experience-based services, related marketing and digital skills) needed to achieve uniform quality service and improve the quality of individual services and products. Finally, a new route based on intellectual, "spiritual" heritage will be developed, allowing tourists visiting the region to discover the tourist attractions of rural areas through colorful stories and experiences.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Slovenia-Hungary Cooperation Program, co-financed by the European Union and the Hungarian State.
